EMF (or ElectroMagnetic Field) is a term used to describe electric fields generated by charged particles, magnetic fields generated by charged particles in motion, and radiated fields generated by devices such as televisions, radios, microwaves, and motors. What are safe levels of exposure? For example, the Swedish government has established the safety limit for ELF magnetic fields at 2.5 mG and VLF magnetic fields at 0.25 mG. This standard is generally accepted around the world. Therefore if someone is exposed to levels exceeding this standard, they might be at risk for developing health problems such as headaches, fatigue, dizziness, cancer, and more.
Different EMF frequencies affect the body differently, so safe exposure levels must be determined for each frequency range and the proximity to the devices that generate them. And radiated energy fields should not be confused with nuclear radiation, which has a very different and harmful effect on the body.
